GIS students range from the traditional to non-traditional, including both part time and full time. Small classes lead to a feeling of community among GIS students as well as with the instructors.

GIS students have 24/7 access to the GIS lab. In addition to having access to the lab for GIS related work, the students who are part of the program can enjoy the quiet and comfort of the GIS lab while other students are forced to crowd into computer labs open to all students on other parts of the campus.
